Press Release:  The Discovery Museums Vehicle Donation Program Rolls on in Partnership with Christmas Motors

Acton, MA - Do you have a car that you’re thinking of trading in? Do you have an old vehicle that’s sitting in your driveway? Please join the nearly 30 area residents who have donated their car to The Discovery Museums through its Vehicle Donation Program. The Program, made possible by Christmas Motors of Maynard, gives the vehicle donor the tax credit and The Discovery Museums 100 percent of the proceeds. The funds help The Discovery Museums continue to create innovative educational programming for all who visit.

“The Discovery Museums is an important community resource,” said Peter Christmas of Christmas Motors. “The hands-on learning experience at the Museums has been inspiring budding scientists for 27 years.”

Christmas Motors, a family owned business since 1977, generously handles the details of each sale. If you would like to take part in the program, please contact The Discovery Museums’ at 978-264-4200 x24 or Christmas Motors at 978-897-9627.

“We are very thankful to Christmas Motors for the time and energy they’ve put into this program,” said Neil Gordon, Chief Executive Officer, The Discovery Museums. “Because all of the money we raise goes back into the operation of the Museums, we wouldn’t exist without generous business partners and individual donors.”

If you want to support The Discovery Museums but don't have a vehicle to donate, we ask that you donate to our annual fund.  Your gift will make it possible to continue to guide children as they explore and develop their own capabilities.

Founded in 1982, The Discovery Museums’ campus inspires enduring curiosity and love of learning through interactive discovery, hands-on inquiry and scientific investigations. Younger children learn through play at the Children’s Discovery building. Older children explore scientific concepts and hands-on creativity at the Science Discovery building. The campus has an extensive school program which includes museum field trips and/or classroom outreach. For information please visit www.discoverymuseums.org
