Bubble Fun!

Mix 9 cups of water with 1 cup of Joy dishwashing liquid in a large container. Let the bubble solution sit for 24 hours. Can you make a bubble with your fingers? What materials around your home can you use to make bubbles?

Bubble Printing

Pour 1/2 cup of bubble solution (use the recipe listed above) and 2 tablespoons of washable tempera paint into a bowl. Mix well with a straw and then blow bubbles in the bowl until they begin to flow over the rim. Place a 5 1/2 inch x 8 inch piece of paper on top of the bowl causing the bubbles to pop. Lift the paper and see the bubble prints left behind.

Dough

Mix 1 cup of flour and 1/3 cup of salt in a large bowl. Mix 1/3 cup of water and a couple of drops of food coloring in a small bowl. Slowly add the water and food coloring to the flour and salt. Knead the dough well and shape it into a ball. Tips: If the dough seems too wet, gradually add additional flour until the dough is the right consistency. If the dough seems too dry, gradually add additional water until the dough is the right consistency.

Colorful Pasta

Add 1/2 cup of vinegar and several drops of food coloring into a large resealable plastic bag. Add 2 cups of pasta to the bag and seal it. Shake the bag so the vinegar and food coloring can evenly coat the pasta. Let the pasta sit in the bag until the pasta is dyed the desired shade of the color used. Open the bag and slowly pour the excess vinegar and food coloring out of one corner into the sink. Pour the pasta onto wax paper and allow it to air dry. Tip: Dye ziti or rigatoni pasta to create colorful necklaces or bracelets.
