Discovery Museum Offers House at 183 Main Street for Free

ACTON, MA – Discovery Museum announced today that a house on the Museum campus is available for free to any interested party able to relocate it from its current site for reuse or salvage. The house street address is 183 Main Street, Acton, MA, 01720. The property the house sits on is not available.

183 Main Street was originally built as a single-family residence around 1900. It has 2,758 gross square feet, not including a 920 gsf basement, and is two and a half stories with a front porch and a side/rear enclosed porch. It has 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, walk-up attic, and non-working interior fireplace. The shingled roof was replaced in 2018. The house is structurally sound and has been in continuous use. 

Along with the 1.45 acres it sits on, it was last sold in 2007 for $425,000 to the Discovery Museum. Current use of the building is as administrative office space for Discovery Museum staff.
